A Journey of Growth, and Innovation
We began with a bold vision: to bring high-quality products from mainland Europe into the UK and establish a brokerage representing leading brands and supplying juices and flavoured milks. At a time when brokerages were far more common than today, this was a forward-thinking move, laying the foundation for a business built on opportunity, agility, and long-term growth.
How we started
The first products in the portfolio were from concentrate juices (FC) and milks, mostly in Tetra pack format, which remain key products today. Long-life milks were an early focus, introducing foreign milk brands to the UK market for the first time. Over time, the company took on major brands such as Sunmagic, gradually expanding the product range into cartons, bottles, and later, more innovative formats. The business continued to grow and in 1998 leadership passed to the next generation
Challenges in the mid-1990s reshaped the company. With the juice market becoming home-sourced, supply chains were disrupted and margins squeezed. In response, manufacturing in-house, shifting from a Gloucester aircraft hangar to building the Yaxley production site in 2010. Strategic acquisitions followed, including the Llantrisant operation in 2015 and Headcorn in 2016, enabling entry into freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, HPP, and cartons—rapidly expanding capabilities.
A Juice
For Everyone
Innovation
Innovation remains at the heart of the company’s ethos. Continuous reinvestment, a growing NPD team, and a commitment to turning underutilised factories into thriving production sites ensure the company remains competitive, relevant, and responsive to market trends. Today, Sunmagic Juices serves a diverse customer base across every segment of the juice category, combining operational excellence with creativity and market insight.
Philosophy
Our philosophy hasn’t changed through-out its existence to date: that is to reinvest, innovate, and grow. From humble beginnings to a multi-site, multi-brand operation, the business continues to evolve, offering the very best opportunities for its teams, its customers, and the UK’s juice market.
Between 2017 and 2020
Production was reorganised across our four specialised sites: Headcorn for freshly squeezed juices, Nelson for aseptic carton lines and high volume rPET, Llantrisant for glass and Yaxley for hot fill rPET manufacturing. This structure allows the business to offer specialised capabilities while maintaining service, efficiency and quality for each and every one of our customers.
